This pattern is part of The Bletchley Collection, a six piece collection for Eden Cottage Yarn’s Milburn range inspired by the WWII code breakers stationed at Bletchley Park.

Eden Cottage Yarns Milburn 4ply (4ply/Fingering weight; 85% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 15% Silk; 200m / 218yds per 50g skein)
MC: Grey x 2 skeins
CC: Small amounts of contrasting colours. Sample uses 18 x 3g (54g in total) of Damson, Mustard, Night Sky and Rust
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
3.25mm (US 3) circular needle, 40cm / 16” length or DPNs
1 stitch marker
Waste yarn in a similar weight for provisional cast on
Crochet hook in a similar size to needle for provisional cast on

Skills Used: basic stitches, working in the round on circular needles or DPNs, stranded colourwork, provisional crochet cast on (optional) kitchener stitch grafting (optional, full explanation given in pattern)
CONSTRUCTION
Bombe is worked in the round from a provisional cast-on allowing the ends to be grafted together for a neat finish. If preferred a standard cast on and cast off can be used and the ends sewn together with mattress stitch.
Instructions are given to alter the length and width of the cowl.
